Self Defense Tip #2
Look ’em in the eye!
Avoiding eye contact is a sure way of ‘flagging’ yourself as a victim. Predators usually are not rocket scientist. But, something they do very well is picking out a victim. Communicate to the world around you that you are a confident and strong person by showing a ‘sence of purpose’ when you walk. Make eye contact briefly to show that you acknowledge someone’s precence but are not intimidated by them. Swing your arms as you walk (should not be burdened with possible ‘loot’ for the predator). Predators usually don’t have plan ‘B’. If when they ‘Vet’ you and you don’t appear to be a weak target, they move on to an alternate victim. That brief look may be the barrier that keeps you from being attacked.
Confidence to a predator is like bug spray to a pest, it repels. Stay safe!
